How to raise your tribe limit
There are four separate ceilings and people usually mean a different one than the setting they are told to change.
“Tribe limit” is four different numbers in Soulmask, and the advice you find usually changes the wrong one.
The four ceilings
| What it limits | Setting | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Recruited tribesmen, tribe‑wide | Tribe tribesman cap | 50 |
| Players in the tribe | Tribe member cap | 20 |
| Tribesmen you may field in combat | Fielded barbarian count | 3 |
| Animals you may own | Personal animal cap | 10 |
The part that is progression, not configuration
Three settings grant additional recruitable tribesmen as you upgrade Connection Enhancement:
- Extra tribesmen: Connection Enhancement I — level 1, currently 6
- Extra tribesmen: Connection Enhancement II — level 2, currently 10
- Extra tribesmen: Connection Enhancement III — level 3, currently 15
On an unmodified server this is the route a player actually has: the tribe-wide cap is the host's decision, but the per-player allowance is something you earn.
If you host the server
Raise Tribe tribesman cap. Check the maximum on its page first — the ceiling is not the same in every game mode, and a value your mode does not permit is not a value the server will honour. Paste your config into the checker if you are not sure which mode schema you are on.
Recruiting faster, rather than more
Two settings change how quickly a captured barbarian becomes a tribesman and how good they are when they arrive: Barbarian taming speed (default 1) and Wild barbarian quality (default 1). Quality is the one that matters for a useful worker, because aptitude is rolled, not trained.
