Soulmask Systems Wiki

Soulmask, without the guesswork

Why your tribesmen stopped working, what each difficulty actually does to you, and the server settings the game never shows you — read straight out of the files the developer ships.

Start with the thing that is bothering you

My tribesmen stopped working

Seven different states look identical from the outside. Here is which one you are actually in, and the setting behind each.

Which difficulty should I pick?

It silently changes 103 settings, not a handful. Charted, so you can see what you are signing up for.

My server settings will not apply

The advice everyone repeats about the three blocks is not what the developer’s own servers do.

Which proficiency should I level?

All 31, and exactly what levelling each one improves — as one grid.

What are the settings I cannot see?

17 the game’s own interface never shows you, including the performance dials.

Just check my config filetool

Paste your GameXishu.json and every value is checked against what the game permits. Runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded.

Why your tribesmen stopped working

Six reasons, in the order they are worth checking. All of them are states the game tracks and never shows you.

How to raise your tribe limit

There are four separate ceilings and people usually mean a different one than the setting they are told to change.

Which difficulty should you pick?

What each of the six presets actually changes, with the developer's own numbers.

How to write a server config that actually applies

The advice everybody repeats about the three blocks is not what the developer does.

Which proficiency should you level?

There are 31, they fall into 8 groups, and the group decides what you get.

Why you cannot level past a certain point

On PvP servers there is a second cap nobody mentions, and it depends on how old the server is.

How invasions actually work

Heat, scouting, assault, cooldown — and the twenty settings behind them.

Or look something up

Every server setting282

What each one does, and the range the game will actually accept in your mode and slot.

The developer’s own servers132

The exact configurations behind the official PvE, PvP, hardcore and high‑rate servers.

Patch history

Every update, and when the numbers here were last checked against it.

Where all of this comes from

The files, the method, and the things we deliberately do not have.

Why you can believe these numbers

They come out of the game

Every figure is read from the free dedicated‑server package the developer publishes. Nothing was copied from another site or typed from memory.

Every page says how old it is

Soulmask patches roughly weekly. Each page names the exact server build its numbers came from, so you can tell at a glance whether it has gone stale.

We tell you what we do not know

No item list, no recipes, no creature stats — that data is encrypted and we will not break it open. A gap here is stated, never filled with a guess.

Things you will not find on another Soulmask site

The difficulty presets, named6

Every setting ships six per‑difficulty defaults and nothing anywhere says which position is which. We established it three independent ways.

Ranges that move under you181

Settings whose permitted range changes with mode or slot. Treating them as one flat range is how a competing tool ended up with 63 wrong maximums.

What the official servers really set132

Including that 131 of them contradict the advice every setup guide gives about keeping the three blocks in sync.

The settings with no interface17

Sleep distance, physics optimisation, pathfinding, drop‑rate corrections. Real dials, documented nowhere.

Questions

Is this an item or recipe database?

No, deliberately. Items, recipes, talents and creature stats live in an AES‑encrypted archive inside the game, and opening it needs a key the community will not share and a debugger attached to a running game. We do not do that, so we do not have that data and we say so rather than copying it from somebody who does.

Where do the numbers come from, exactly?

The Soulmask dedicated‑server package — Steam app 3017300, free, anonymous, about 2 GB. Inside it WS/Config/GameplaySettings/ is 137 plaintext JSON files: five mode schemas and 132 server templates the developer runs itself. The system names come from the server executable’s own symbol table.

Why are the setting names in Chinese?

Because that is how the developer ships them. The config files carry Simplified Chinese labels and no English at all. Every English name on this site is our translation, marked as such, with the original shown beside it so you can check us.

My config tool says a maximum this site disagrees with. Who is right?

Check the original. Every setting page shows the shipped minimum, maximum and default for each mode and slot, and names the build it read them from. Most published Soulmask config tools were reverse‑engineered from a saved GameXishu.json rather than from the schema the developer ships, which is why their ranges drift.

Do I have to write every value into all three blocks?

That advice is everywhere and the developer’s own files do not follow it. Of 132 shipped server templates, 131 are not identical across the three slots, only 36 populate slot 0 at all, and 96 populate slot 1 alone. What we have not tested is what the server does with an out‑of‑range value, and we will not claim it until we have.

How current is this?

It is stamped to dedicated‑server build 25117130. The patch timeline tracks every update, and refreshing the whole site is one download and one script run, so it can follow a weekly patch cadence.
